Our initial foray into the charity space is called UTa.gs – a URL shortener with a twist.  We make it easy for people to enter a long link, shorten that link, and include the charity of their choice.  Once shortened, they can share that link via a blog, tweet, website, email or a social networking site like Facebook or LinkedIn.    Once that link is shared and clicked on, the customer can choose to donate to that particular charity or go straight to their link.   We’re counting on like minded individuals who are passionate about a particular cause to help share that cause with their readers, friends and followers.

Rethinking Change will continue on the path of pairing multiple forms of technology and everyday behavior to help various charities.   In the next few months, we’ll be launching a coupon website which will allow people to shop online and donate a portion of the sale to the charity of their choice. Future upgrades will include a robust price comparison website with full inventory listings from numerous vendors so that you may get the best deals available, plus raise money for a good cause.

We don’t have a specific funding goal at Rethinking Change.  The overall goal is to find as many like-minded individuals who believe in helping others – doing good by doing something.
